Lymphedema Therapy Services

Broad Reach Rehabilitation offers evaluation and treatment of lymphedema. Equally important, we provide information, education, and support as patients respond to the challenges of living with lyphedema and successfully managing the conditions.

Lymphedema is a condition resulting in swelling of one or more limbs or quadrants of the trunk caused by the disruption of the lymphatic system.  It is a chronic disorder that is often progressive in nature and can lead to complications and serious infections.  Lymphedema can occur following surgery, trauma, disease or radiation therapy.  Though there is no cure for lymphedema, there is effective management of the condition available right here at Broad Reach.

Broad Reach Rehabilitation offers evaluation and treatment of lymphedema with complete decongestive therapy (CDT).  This state-of-the-art treatment is recommended by the International Society of Lymphology.  The key treatment components include

• Manual lymph drainage
• Compression bandaging
• Skin care
• Exercise
• Compression garment fitting

Our primary lymphedema therapists have completed over 135 hours of education and training and are fully qualified to perform evaluation and treatment for lymphedema and other related disorders.
