It honors the dedication of healthcare professionals gave us a wonderful opportunity to honor the incredible nurses across Liberty Commons, The Victorian, and Broad Reach Hospice. Nursing is far more than a profession, it is a calling. Whether providing direct bedside care, mentoring staff, supporting admissions and transitions, advocating for residents, or simply offering comfort during life's most difficult moments, our nurses show up with compassion and resilience every single day. We are so grateful for everything you do, and we hope you felt truly celebrated this week.
America's Best Nursing Homes Award 2026:
We are thrilled to share that Liberty Commons has once again been recognized for its outstanding commitment to resident care! Liberty Commons remains the Lower Cape's only Skilled Nursing Facility with an Overall 5-Star CMS Rating, a distinction that reflects the dedication, heart, and hard work of our entire team. This achievement also speaks to the trust our residents and families place in us each and every day. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your care journey. We are so proud to continue earning this recognition alongside such an extraordinary team.
National Skilled Nursing Care Week May 10th-16th:
Every year, the week of Mother's Day is set aside to celebrate something truly special, the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others. National Skilled Nursing Care Week, established in 1967, is a nationwide observance that honors the residents, caregivers, nurses, and volunteers who make skilled nursing communities what they are.
This year's theme, Moments in Bloom, could not be a more fitting description of what we witness every single day at Liberty Commons, our Longterm Care facility. From a kind word and a shared laugh to a hand to hold, it is often the smallest moments that mean the most — and this past week was full of them. Our residents came together for crafts, musical performances, and more, and the joy in the room was truly something special to witness. We are so proud of our incredible team and so grateful for every resident who makes Liberty Commons the warm, vibrant, and loving community it is.
Full Evacuation Fire Drill at The Victorian:
Fire safety is a top priority at The Victorian, and this month's full building evacuation drill was another important milestone in our ongoing commitment to the highest safety standards for our residents and staff. Conducted in partnership with the Chatham Fire and Police Departments, this drill is part of a structured emergency preparedness program we formalized last July, ensuring that our protocols are not only in place but continuously practiced and refined. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible staff, our wonderful residents, and our partners at the Chatham Fire and Police Departments for making safety a shared priority and this drill a success.
Last But Not Least, Fun!!
The past couple of months at Broad Reach Healthcare have been filled with so much laughter, energy, and fun! Our residents have enjoyed a wonderful lineup of activities and events that have truly brought our community together. From live musical performances to the hilarious Whack-a-Mole game where our brave staff members volunteered as the moles, there has been no shortage of smiles. Cornhole tournaments and candlestick bowling brought out our residents' competitive side over at The Victorian, and a staff and family movie night gave us all the perfect excuse to sit back, relax, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime together.
