There are many of us that have been part of this organization for several years and even decades. Some of us started out working in the kitchen and worked our way up to becoming a nurse or we started our career in the CNA course and slowly navigated our way to a nurse management position.

Journeys like this exhibit the dedication and culture of our organization. People continue to step up to the plate in many different ways and our organization provides opportunities for all to advance in their career if they want to put in the effort. 

One individual had a similar path in which she started off in our CNA course and was one of our first sponsorships for the LPN program. Some of you may know her as Emily Haynes! After many years of hard work, and a brief absence from LC serving as Mayflower Place’s DON, she made her way back to LC in the Assistant Director of Nursing role.

Nurse management positions are not an easy job. They require the necessary attention to detail and advance clinical and people skills.

When looking at who would best be LC’s next Director of Nursing I quickly turned to Emily, someone who has been part of our organization for many years and has stepped up to the plate time and time again. The day-to-day operational responsibilities of the nursing department are the ultimate sacrifice and responsibility. We are confident that with Emily’s passion and expertise she will excel in her new role.
